James Collins (b. March 24, 1976) was the first Vice President of the United Republic of Ireland, having taken office on the 29th August 2011. Before becoming Vice-President, Collins was a Teachtai Dala for the Donegal constituency for 10 years. He holds the record as the youngest TD anywhere in Ireland after becoming a member of the House of Comhdhail at the age of just 25.
