| - This is a Work in Progress and as such, players should not be using it in their biographies until it is finalized. Skill Devices: Each major skill a Marine must have is tested very often, often as twice as month but never less than six times per year. For each of these major skills, Marines are authorized to wear a device with a 'bar' underneath it with the appropriate weapon or skill embossed upon it. At 3d ranks in a skill, a Marine is authorized to wear a Proficiency Circlet. At 4d Ranks, the Circlet becomes a solid Shield and the rating is called 'Expert'. At 5d Ranks, the Shield gains a laurel wreath and the ranking is 'Master'. At 6d Ranks, the Shield gains a laurel wreath and star, and the ranking is 'Master Expert'. The following skills are authorized for skill devices:
* Blaster (Rifle, Pistol)
* Thrown Weapons (Grenades)
* Melee Combat (Knife)
* Brawling (Combatives)
* Linguistics
* Slicer
* Armorer
* Security
* Field Medic

* Cryptography
* Cavalry
* Vehicle Pilot (vehicle indicated on bar)
* Combat Aviator (vehicle indicated on bar)
* Gunnery For the high-speed Marines, there exist certain advanced specialty schools that Marines can attend. For the most part, these schools are only authorized for very up-and-coming Marines who meet the basic skill requisites to attend the class and are recommended for the school by their commanding officer. Each school has a minimum stat requisite to pass. If a person has +1d in each stat above the minimum, they are authorized to attend an advanced course and wear a special 'Advanced' designator over the specialty tab.
