On January 12, an area of possible development was observed in the Eastern Atlantic, near the Cape Verde Islands. 3 days later, it developed into Tropical Depression Five. Five then began to rapidly strengthen into Tropical Storm RAM. RAM was a weak, short lived tropical storm peaking at 45 MPH before interacting with the Saharan Air Layer. RAM dissipated on January 22. Currently Akio is 100/975 On September 27, forecasters discovered that Akio formed from the remnants of Tropical Storm RAM.
