- Genkai is a character from Yoshihiro Togashi's manga and anime Yu Yu Hakusho. Genkai is an old chi-master who, main protagonist, Yusuke Urameshi, is sent to train under to master the infamous "Spirit Wave" technique. Despite her short stature and seemingly frail frame, Genkai is one of, if not the strongest, full blooded human in the series and is celebrated as being the scourge of demon kind. Genkai has not only mastered spirit energy far more than Yusuke but is also even more belligerent, snarky and pugilistic than Yusuke himself.

She is voiced by Caryl Marder in the English dub of Yu Yu Hakusho the Movie: Poltergeist Report. Yusuke and Kuwabara address Genkai as "Ba-san," which means "Grandmother, old woman." She is called Master Jeremiah in the Filipino dub of the anime, because she was confused for an old man. A young Genkai seen in a flashback, is voiced by Linda Young in the FUNimation English dub. In the Filipino dub of the anime, she was voiced by Eric Resurreccion also voices Yusuke as her younger version is voiced by Rowena Raganit.
