Sir (Henry) Seymour King (4 January 1852 - 14 November 1933) was a banker, mountaineer and Conservative Party politician. Born in Sussex, and educated at Charterhouse and Oxford, he joined the firm of Henry S. King and Co, a London bank founded by his father. Under his leadership the bank expanded into India. Active in Conservative politics, he sat as MP for Kingston upon Hull Central from 1885-1911. He was made a Knight Commander of the Indian Empire in 1892 and a baronet in 1932. A resident of Kensington, he served two consecutive terms as Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kensington in 1901-02 and 1902-03. He was also a Deputy Lieutenant for the City of London; a Governor of Charterhouse and Chairman of the Commissioners of Income Tax for City of London.
