Canadian Forces Base Suffield is a 2690 square kilometre military facility located in in southeastern Alberta. It is the largest military base (by area) in Canada and home to the Defence Research and Development Canada Suffield military research facility. British troops have also used Suffield for armoured unit training since 1971. Units from Cypress County Fire Rescue are quartered at the base fire hall. They protect the community of Suffield and surrounding area.
