Gamma Origi III was a planet located in either the Alpha or Beta Quadrants of the galaxy, the third planet of the Gamma Origi system. It was a very relaxing planet that bore a marked resemblance to the more-pleasant areas of Alaska. In 2365, Commander William T. Riker reluctantly took a 72-hour shore leave on Gamma Origi III on Captain Jean-Luc Picard's orders. During this vacation he went mountain climbing and allowed his beard to grow in.
