| - The Smurfic Games was a one-time event (at least in the chronology of the Smurfs cartoon show) based on the human tournament called the Olympics that took place in the Smurf Village during the cartoon special "The Smurfic Games". It was held by Papa Smurf as a way for his little Smurfs to have fun and to get themselves in shape so that they would be better able to handle unexpected attacks from creatures such as Azrael the cat. It also allowed the two sides of the village, the east side and the west side, to fairly compete against each other despite what differences they may have. Brainy served as the judge for all the events to make sure all its contestants competed fairly in all ten events, in which the winner would be awarded the Smurfic Games Medal. Before the start of the games, Brainy had the Smurfs separated into two teams by having a dividing line painted through the middle of the village. However, Clumsy had the line painted right over him, which made the two teams fight over which opposing team is going to have him when Smurfette announced that she and Clumsy would form their own team, which made the other two teams laugh as they knew Clumsy by himself wouldn't have a chance of besting either team. Also before the start of the games, Papa Smurf had to deal with a dangerous magical item called the Medallion Of Poseidon that his friend Argus had given him to properly dispose of. Although he had used an incantation to render the medallion's power inactive and buried it in a deep hole in the forest, Brainy had dug it back up and, assuming it was going to be the Smurfic Games Medal, had Painter Smurf give it a fresh coat of gold paint to make it look more like a medal. After the lighting of the Smurfic Flame by Papa Smurf and Baby Smurf, the Smurfic Games commenced with the first event of the high dive. Painter from the east and Vanity from the west made successful dives while Clumsy ended up crashing into a bird's nest. The second event was a cherry throw, which had Tailor from the east going first followed by Smurfette from her own team throwing her cherry a bit farther. Greedy from the west team, however, ended up eating his cherry, which made Brainy disqualify him for "eating his equipment", but that gets him booed and pelted with cherries. The third event was the three-way wrestling match with Hefty from the east, Handy from the west, and Clumsy from his own team. Watching as Hefty and Handy are ready to grapple with each other, Clumsy couldn't wait to join them and ended up jumping on top of both contestants. The fourth event, the ski jump, took place on the peak of a snowy mountain, with Hefty going first, Handy going second, and Clumsy going last. Hefty and Handy both made successful jumps, but Clumsy just became a rolling ball of snow that fell right on top of Brainy! The ice skating event, with Hefty, Handy, and Smurfette as the participants, had Hefty and Handy bumping into each other while Smurfette skated gracefully around them. With the three teams in a tie for winning three events each (though four of them weren't shown), the final event called the Smurfathon would determine who will win the medal. It was a long run through the forest that Hefty, Handy, and Clumsy participated in, though Clumsy had a late start and tripped over himself trying to get going. However, as Gargamel started the ritual that would unlock the power of the medallion, a rumbling caused an avalanche of rocks to come tumbling down a mountain, sweeping Handy off the course as he and Hefty were passing through its trail. Hefty, who saw his close opponent get swept off the course by the avalanche, went over to the pile of rocks to help get Handy safely out while Clumsy passed right by them, thinking that Handy and Hefty had long since passed him. Back at the village, the other Smurfs were waiting to see who would be approaching the finish line when Smurfette saw that it was Clumsy straining to reach it. He was so exhausted that he barely had enough strength left to finish the race, but Smurfette encouraged him to reach for that last reserve of energy he had left in him, which was enough for Clumsy to take the last few steps toward the finish line. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse: as Brainy was about to hang the Smurfic Games Medal on Clumsy's neck, it was revealed to be the Medallion Of Poseidon, which Papa Smurf realized was dug back up and now being used to create a massive earthquake that was ripping apart the village. Papa Smurf countered the medallion's power with an incantation to render it inactive once more as it fell into the crevice that it opened, and as it was rendered inactive, the earth sealed itself back up. Though it had left the village greatly devastated, the Smurfs were glad to be working together to deal with such a calamity in a spirit of unity. A little later on, Papa Smurf rewarded Clumsy with the Smurfic Games Garland and Smurfette rewarded Clumsy with a kiss. Hefty and Handy were both glad to see Clumsy come out as a winner because it no longer mattered to them who wins or loses, but how one plays the game. As Brainy was already thinking of preparing for the next year's Smurfic Games, Papa Smurf said that, because of the trouble they went through, he would only hold the Smurfic Games once every four years. The ceremony was closed with the Smurfs dancing around the Smurfic Flame with Papa Smurf and Smurfette standing next to the Smurfic Games' first champion.
