| - Upon closure of Digital Muse in 2000, Rainoff has since then predominantly worked as a free-lancer, securing a commission as "digital compositor" at Digital Domain for Star Trek Nemesis. Outside of the Star Trek franchise, he worked as compositor on the short drama I? (2005, starring Sharon Lawrence) and on the horror sequel Urban Legends: Bloody Mary (2005, with Steve Fong, Paul Hill, and Eddie Robison). In 2010 he worked as director and producer on the documentary about the 3.5 miles of border wall dividing San Diego, CA, from Tijuana, Mexico, El muro, of which he has stated, "I needed to do something good with myself.(...)I started a film about birds and it became about Human rights." [1] He followed up on this documentary with the equally socially involved 2011 short film Borrando la Frontera as editor and cinematographer, as well as location sound manager for the documentary Tierra Brillante of the same year.
