| - The Denorios Belt was a torus-shaped charged plasma field located in the Bajor system. (DS9 episode: "Emissary") Its location in the system was between the planets Bajor VIII and Bajor XI (at impulse power, the trip is approximately three hours between Bajor and the belt, three hundred million kilometers). Some qualities of the Denorios Belt include neutrino disturbances (characterized as "severe") and tachyon eddies (among others qualities). (Last Unicorn RPG module: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Narrator's Toolkit; DS9 video game: The Fallen)
- The Denorios belt is a charged plasma field located in the Bajor system, orbiting the primary star. It has long been a navigational hazard for local shipping. The belt sometimes undergoes violent plasma disruptions and ion storms. Ancient Bajorans had to travel through the Denorios belt to get to Cardassia Prime in lightships. In 2371, Benjamin Sisko and Jake Sisko proved this was possible. In late 2374, Jadzia Dax ran a spectral scan on a comet that was passing through the belt. She had waited three weeks for it to enter the belt.
- Prior to 2369, spacecraft generally avoided the Denorios Belt unless they had to go there. In the ten thousand years prior to 2369, twenty-three navigational reports reported unusually severe neutrino disturbances in the belt. Also, at least five of the Bajoran orbs were found here. (DS9: "Emissary") Odo was found in the Denorios Belt in the 24th century. (DS9: "Emissary") The script for "Emissary" stated that in 2337, a vessel of unknown origin was discovered there, carrying a member of a previously unencountered species. This might have referred to Odo's discovery. [1]

The belt sometimes undergoes violent plasma disruptions and ion storms. Ancient Bajorans had to travel through the Denorios belt to get to Cardassia Prime in lightships. In 2371, Benjamin Sisko and Jake Sisko proved this was possible. Akorem Laan disappeared in the Belt in 2172 following an ion storm, though he later returned no worse for wear. Also in the 22nd century, a ship carrying Kai Taluno was disabled for several days in the Belt. Following his rescue, Taluno claimed that the "heavens opened up" and nearly consumed his vessel. For many years, the Belt was prone to severe neutrino disturbances in a localized area without explanation. Five of the Orbs were found in that area. In addition, in 2337, a vessel of unknown origin was discovered there, carrying Odo, a member of a previously unencountered species. All of these incidents were explained in 2369, when, inside the belt, the first stable wormhole known to exist was discovered by Commander Benjamin Sisko and Lieutenant Jadzia Dax. Shortly thereafter, the space station Deep Space 9 was moved from Bajor's orbit to its present position in the Belt, some 20,000 kilometers from the newly-discovered anomaly. In late 2374, Jadzia Dax ran a spectral scan on a comet that was passing through the belt. She had waited three weeks for it to enter the belt.

In the ten thousand years prior to 2369, twenty-three navigational reports reported unusually severe neutrino disturbances in the belt. Also, at least five of the Bajoran orbs were found here. (DS9: "Emissary") Ancient Bajorans travelling to Cardassia Prime in lightships had to cross the Denorios belt, considered the most difficult part of their journey. During those journeys, their ships could encounter tachyon eddies, taking them past the belt at faster-than-light speed. In 2371, Benjamin Sisko and Jake Sisko repeated such a journey in another lightship. (DS9: "Explorers") The Bajoran poet Akorem Laan disappeared in the belt in 2172 following an ion storm. After a brief stint in the future, he returned to his time and with no direct memory of his journey through time or encountering the Celestial Temple. Also in the 22nd century, a ship carrying Kai Taluno was disabled for several days in the belt. Following his rescue, Taluno claimed that the "heavens had opened up" and nearly consumed his vessel. (DS9: "Emissary", "Accession") Odo was found in the Denorios Belt in the 24th century. (DS9: "Emissary") The script for "Emissary" stated that in 2337, a vessel of unknown origin was discovered there, carrying a member of a previously unencountered species. This might have referred to Odo's discovery. [1] All of these incidents were explained in 2369, when, inside the belt, the first stable wormhole known to exist was discovered by Commander Benjamin Sisko and Lieutenant Jadzia Dax. Shortly thereafter, the space station Deep Space 9 was moved from Bajor's orbit to a position in the belt, some twenty thousand kilometers from the newly-discovered aperture of the wormhole. (DS9: "Emissary") Later that year, elevated thoron emissions in the belt were speculated to be the result of the presence of so many warp and impulse engines. (DS9: "If Wishes Were Horses") In 2370, a plasma storm affected the Denorios belt and Deep Space 9. (DS9: "Invasive Procedures") In late 2374, Jadzia Dax ran a spectral scan on a comet that was passing through the belt. She had waited three weeks for it to enter the belt. (DS9: "Time's Orphan") As depicted in the first draft script of "Emissary", the Denorios belt was an asteroid belt rather than a charged plasma field. It nonetheless was said to pose a "navigational hazard."

(DS9 episode: "Emissary") In 2374, the crew of the Bajoran research vessel Ke'el Tul had been assigned to find a way to control the tachyon particles in the Belt, but she was destroyed by the Grigari. (DS9 video game: The Fallen) Lieutenant Nog and Ensign Thirishar ch'Thane theorized that tachyon eddies from the Belt combined with certain noble gases disrupted the formation of Iconian Gateways; this later proved not to be the case. (DS9 - Gateways novel: Demons of Air and Darkness)
