  • Slashing weapons are the midway point between Piercing and Crushing, they are a balance between the Higher minimum damage that piercing provides and the higher maximum damage that crushing provides. Although Slashing weapons don't do direct damage as consistently as the other two, they do redeem themselves with the Slice Skill. During longer battles or against a regen/on-hit tank, the DoT that Slice provides tends to work particularly well. Recommended classes: Recommended Melee distribution: Str/Dex/PSt 2/1/0 1/1/0 Whips also gain bonuses from both Slash spec and Slice.

Although Slashing weapons don't do direct damage as consistently as the other two, they do redeem themselves with the Slice Skill. During longer battles or against a regen/on-hit tank, the DoT that Slice provides tends to work particularly well. Recommended classes: * DPS: Weapons Master for increased attack speed * Tank: Tactician for parry, Guardian for block * Support: Paladin for party buffs, Dark Knight for lowered enemy stats, Angel for ressurection Recommended Melee distribution: Str/Dex/PSt 2/1/0 1/1/0 The 2/1/0 build is used primarily by PvP'ers, the higher strength provides more likely hood of hitting max damage with your melee attacks whilst the dex provides enough chance to hit players often. Some people suggest 1 point to strength 1 to dex effectively alternating 3 points either level.. Example: level 2 melee - 3 str 0 dex 0 pst, level 3 melee - 0 str 3 dex 0 pst, level 4 melee - 3 str 0 dex 0 pst. And so on. This build is commonly used for leveling as it gives you a much higher chance to hit higher level monsters regularly which certainly helps with that unexpected boss fight. Many people suggest that you stop putting points into dex when it reaches a base level of 300 as this is the "Cap" for hitting. Whips also gain bonuses from both Slash spec and Slice.
