  • Loyola House of Retreats is a Jesuit retreat center that is operated by the Maryland Province. The current director is Rev. Charles L. Mountenot, S.J. Since 1927, thousands of Christian men and women have sought and found Jesus here. Staffed by Jesuit priests and religious women, Loyola is located in a peaceful section of Morristown, surrounded by 30 acres of beautiful lawns, gardens and woodland. Loyola offers a time to relax, away from business problems and family worries; a time to reflect and get a fresh slant on your life; a time to pray, to reawaken the sense of the reality of God and to grow in the precious gift of faith. The house contains 85 comfortable private rooms for retreatants, two chapels, a well-stocked library and spacious meeting rooms; everything reasonably needed for a quiet time with the Lord is at Loyola. Our weekend retreats start on Friday evening with dinner and end on Sunday afternoon with lunch and award presentations. Retreat directors offer scripturally-based reflections for prayer and meditation each day. Relaxation, prayer and growth in awareness of the presence of the Lord all are enhanced by an atmosphere of silence. Over and above the various scheduled retreats, Loyola offers days or evenings of prayer for adults, for school faculties, for parish societies and parish councils. These can be arranged on mutually agreeable dates and the program adapted to the needs of the particular group.
