Mark Davenport was a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. He was part of the mission that finally killed Reinhard Heydrich in 1947. When a firefight broke out, Davenport ordered a unit of men, including Private Bernie Cobb, to hold their positions. This put Cobb in the right place to kill Heydrich when the Reichsprotektor attempted to use the firefight to cover his escape. Davenport received 1/4 of the $1 million bounty on Heydrich's head. Davenport also received the Silver Star and was promoted to First Lieutenant by General Lucius Clay.
