The Clergy of Mardük consists of a bunch of worshippers of Mardük, the God of Chaos. High Cleric Distreyd Thanadar XII succeeded in starting a conflict that would be known as the Yamatian Invasion and who later acted as the commander of the Yamato Empire's armies during the Great War. After the Cataclysm and the death of Distreyd XII, the clergy fell into disarray and eventually ended up as servants of the demons of the Northern Horde. After the clergy fell and the line of Distreyd Thanadars came to an end after the Catastrophe that began the Fourth Age, the clerics chose to embrace a new path along with their former rivals, the Forgotten, and formed a new religious institution called the Church of the Golden Dawn.
