- The police baton is a melee only weapon that can be found in The Getaway and The Getaway: Black Monday. The only was to obtain it is by killing a street patrolling police officer. It can also be obtained by killing this same type of officer in the missions: Filthy Business and Do the World a Favour. It does more damage than pistol whipping an enemy, but not as much damage as hitting someone with an assault rifle or shotgun.

The police baton lacks range. When trying to kill someone bearing this weapon, either use a more powerful melee weapons or try to shoot your opponent. Move away as fast as possible so that he can't hit you. Some weapons like the nine iron can hit your opponent before he can hit you. Keep in mind that opponents using ANY melee weapon can hit any type of vehicle, so try to run over your opponent before he can whack you with a baton.
