He also spent a stint writing for the long-running soap opera Emmerdale' in 1986. Angus shifted mostly to writing audiobooks, some of which he narrated, for BBC's Ivory Shell label and for Naxos Audio. Angus trained as an actor at the Drama Centre and has performed on-stage. Between script work, he acted occasionally in film and television, including the 1991 film The Hours and Times (as Brian Epstein) and an episode of the detective series Campion.
