  • A deity is a member of a pantheon (or other demigod or entity) that is worshipped on Faerun (and other worlds). At character creation, one must choose a deity from a list of 105 Forgotten Realms deities. These are common deities worshipped, and do not include pantheons from remote areas like Mulhorand and Chult, or other powers like archdevils and paragons. If a character's current deity is not compatible with his current alignment or class, the deity will need to be changed to one that actually fits the character.
  • Deities or Gods/Goddesses are very powerful beings, usually worshipped or feared by creatures in the World. There are only three known gods in the Overlord universe — the Mother Goddess and The Forgotten God, the latter was killed by the Third Overlord in Overlord: Raising Hell, possibly taking his place as a god.
  • Gods and Goddesses were worshiped by the dwarves, Urgals, and humans, and were said to have created the world and all the creatures and items inside the many lands. They controlled various elements of nature and life. According to the dwarves, in the Supernatural War, they fought the prehistoric giants. After that conflict, they created the various races. The elves didn't believe in any deities, and chose to stick with what they had proof of, but have stated that should a deity reveal itself to them, they would choose to worship it, if it was worthy. This worthiness would be unlikely, as they felt that if any deities did exist, they had not been good stewards of the land.

However, Deity is more likely a parody of The Sims series, which is developed by Will Wright, who is also well known for simulation games.
  • Pantheon of ADOM gods: Note that Chaos Knights of any race take Andor Drakon himself as their deity when chaotic. God names serve mostly decorative function. • A deity in D&D is a being of tremendous power, typically a resident of an outer plane. Clerics derive their powers from their deities, although NWN does not require a cleric to explicitly declare a deity. In fact, the deity field available at character creation has no effect on the default game. (Custom modules can script special effects, though.)

  • Any Otherworldly being that gives magic in exchange for mortal interaction. * Three main types of Otherworld entities are worshiped in Glorantha: * Gods from Gods World * Spirits from Spirit World * True Beings from World of Forms * But these categories are ambiguous at best, misunderstanding for worst. * In this wiki, all of these entities are called Deities for convenience and preventing useless confusion. * Deities receive * a cultural category, a type category (ie gods, spirits), * a power category (one, two or three runes) * and a specialization category (war, healing etc). * Some of those categories are going to be large.

Deities can grant the player a favor when he/she uses a pool of the deity's color, or donates money to an associated priest.
  • (Deities as described from a book in the Aeropolis Library in MARDEK) Deities: What ARE they? Deities are entities on a higher level of existence than we mere mortals. They are the overseers of the universe; eternal benefactors who watch, maintain and create the world and creatures around us. They come in three major types. There are the Higher Creator Deities, such as YALORT, who design creatures and worlds, shaping the elements of the universe to their desires. They cannot cause anything to appear; they can merely mould what already exists. The Mid-Level Elemental Deities represent and have control over one single element in particular. They have supreme power over that element, so they are the ones that grant its use to the Creators. They are the makers of the crystals. The Less
  • Deities are one of the most powerful and important beings in the worlds of the Legend of Zelda series. Deities vary widely in their form and the extent of their power. Terms such as deity, god, and spirit have been applied to many beings, and there is no clear definition of what is a deity and what is not. These terms are likely not defined levels of power nor races of being but are representative of the speaker's view of the one being described. Ganondorf for example, who is a powerful Gerudo but not generally considered a deity, has once been called a god. It is thinkable that a deity is not an actual race, but more rather to classify a powerful being. Despite supposedly being very powerful creatures, some deities have been defeated or fallen prey to others, with such events happening qu
  • A deity, also called a god, was a being of supernatural powers or attributes, believed in and worshiped by a people. When the primitive Ewoks of Endor encountered the golden protocol droid C-3PO, they mistook him for a god and started worshipping him. Because of their immense powers, the Force wielders of Mortis were considered to be god-like beings. Upon seeing Asajj Ventress in gala dress, the enamoured Quinlan Vos thought she looked like "a goddess of love and war and hope and ecstasy." Count Dooku once referred to Florrum as a "godforsaken planet."
  • A deity is a being of great power that controls some aspect of mortal affairs, referred to as the god's portfolio. True gods are called Estelar and differ from the Dawn Titans (primordials). All deities were either elevated to their positions by Ao (the overseer) or were approved by Ao to be worshiped in the Realms, in the case of interloper deities. No divine power may found a permanent faith and power base without his approval, though there are cases of short-term semi-divine beings who gather faith from worshipers without being deities. The most noted example of this is the various fiendish cults that have arisen. In at least two cases, the worship of these cults have provided enough power or filled a niche that was not otherwise filled, and the fiends in question have become deities in
  • The Deity, known in Japan as Demon God (魔神 Majin) or Divinity (神性 Shinsei) is one of the most powerful races in the Shin Megami Tensei series, and is generally more difficult to fuse than most other races. The laurels are a symbol of that honor and stature. The release of the Golden Laurels coincided with the first Gaia Olympics.
  • A deity is like God except deities are generally believed in by other people, who have a God-shaped-hole in thier lives, and who have yet to rightiously cram God into that oraphice. All dieties are false except God (and Christ (and the Holy Spirit)). The only thing that all dieties have in common with God is that they should never be angered. A good example of a deity is the deity of the bear religion Bearism, which is presently believed to be Ursa. This allows the bears to fill thier God-shaped-holes without accepting the one true deity God(Jesus (The Holy Spirit)). This is why bears are Godless Killing Machines!! The one thing all deities have in common is that they are worshiped exclusively by non-believers or infidels. Most deities demand near fanatical devotion and a willingness to sa
