For the first eight years of her life Chiyoko lived happily with her family on Chartreuse Island in North Blue. Her mother taught gymnastics amd trained her for the local children's talent shows. By the age of 6 Chiyoko was became extremely skilled gymnast, winning several competitions. The Revlutionary Army hearing of this impeding attack immediately sent a force to the island in an attempt to stop the attack. However by the time they arrived the attack was already taking place and the island was in flames.

However all that changed when negotiations between the World Govenment and the Island Government for access to the mineral wealth of the island broke down. The World Govenment responded to the island's rejection of their demands for unlimited free access to the minerals, by sending a Marine Flotilla to take it by force. The Revlutionary Army hearing of this impeding attack immediately sent a force to the island in an attempt to stop the attack. However by the time they arrived the attack was already taking place and the island was in flames.
