Jacut (pronounced jah-KOOT) is a male convict soldier who was stationed at Haven under Keladry of Mindelan during the Scanran War in 460 HE. Jacut was one of the convicts who accompanied Kel after Stenmun Kinslayer kidnapped a bunch of adults and children to either enslave or to have Blayce the Gallan make into killing devices. He fought in the decisive battle at Castle Rathhausak in late June of 460, and survived. The convicts were pardoned by the Crown, but Jacut and many others decided to remain in the north with Kel at the new fortified burgh of New Hope. He was promoted to sergeant, and led patrols.
