  • CYLON RAIDER TYPE FIGHTER CLASS: MODERN RAIDER CREW: ONE BIO-MECHANICAL CYLON BRAIN WEAPONS: 2 CANNONS AND 2 LIGHT MISSILE BAYS JUMP RANGE: unknown The Cylon Raider is the most advanced fighter in the known galaxy. Manufactured by the Cylons and launched from there Basestars in huge numbers these fighters, while not as fast as the Colonial Viper, are more manoeuvrable. Their weapons systems are also more powerful and accurate than the Colonial equivalents. They have a limited (by Cylon standards) jump range which allows them to surprise an enemy. Their brains have a skill level equivalent to an average newly qualified colonial pilot. However their conciseness also resurrects after the brain is killed. This means that over time, and deaths, the raiders can gain a skill level equivalent to an elite colonial pilot. The main problem is that repeated deaths can lead to raiders developing serious mental problems, this can lead to raiders turning on their masters and so the Cylons are forced to box or remove the memories of very experienced raiders. The result of this is that against skilled human pilots raider casualties can be astronomically high compared to they're opponents (although this is partially due to the fact that they don't care if they die so use suicide tactics). Cylon Basestars carry hundreds of these fighters.
