Sulzer's half-sister Constanzia Garb and his cousin Catharina Sulzer were then sent by Garb as spies themselves. Sulzer helped his sister and cousin gain teaching positions in the high school. Despite being Constanzia's brother, Martin saw himself as another father. In this role, Martin learned of Constanzia's infatuation with with rising Pentecostal minister Dieter Fischer, and informed his stepfather.
