According to the adventures featured in Marvel Comics Conan the Barbarian series,Shulo was a very loyal freind to Arma, the Lord of Lions. In a sort of tribute to both Marvel's Ka-Zar's Zabu and Tarzan's Jebellja, the Golden Lion, Shulo was a companion, first of Arma and later Conan, who the beast felt the title of Arma was tranfered to the Cimmerian.
