Reciprocating internal combustion engines can be divided into spark-ignition engines, which require spark plugs to initiate combustion, and compression-ignition engines (diesel engines), which compress the air and then inject diesel fuel into the heated compressed air mixture where it autoignites. Spark plugs may also be used in other applications such as furnaces where a combustible mixture should be ignited. In this case, they are sometimes referred to as flame igniters.

- Level: Killrider magichange 2 Spell Resistance: no Spinning the weapon around, it's surrounded by a beautiful white flame that dances around your blade. You slam the weapon down and a trail of the blazing white energy follows, ripping through your enemy. As a standard action, you gain +2d6 holy or unholy damage depending on your alignment. This damage is multiplied on a critical hit or a vital strike. If you are mounted while wielding this weapon, you deal an additional +2 damage on every hit. As a full attack action, you can create a 15 foot cone that explodes out from you. This deals normal damage as well as an additional 1d6 damage per level (Max 10d6). A successful reflex saving throw DC:12+ Charisma modifier halves the damage.
- Bosch W8AC, NGK B5HS or Champion L88 plugs are all suitable for the Type 1 engine.
- Indiana Jones made use of a spark plug in mid-1930's Mexico. → This article is a stub. You can help us by adding to it. Check out the talk page for hints on what needs to be done.
- The Spark Plug is a Lance type weapon
- Spark plug insulated center electrode is connected by a heavily insulated wire to an ignition coil or magneto circuit, mounted external to the engine. The spark plug body forms a grounded terminal on the base of the plug on the cylinder head, with a spark gap inside the cylinder. Early patents for spark plugs included those by Nikola Tesla http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikola_Tesla (in US patent 609,250 for an ignition timing system, 1898), Richard Simms (GB 24859/1898, 1898), and Robert Bosch (GB 26907/1898). Karl Benz http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Benz is also credited with the invention.
