The modern capital of Argonia is Argonigrad, which is actually quite a small town in the south of Argonia, but is widely recognised as the first city of the Argon people, who are quite distinct from the Arjans. Argonia was a regional power in the middle ages, and at its most powerful, in 1445, stretched all the way from the shores of modern-day Tomstria to the edges of what is now Medina in the east, and south to parts of modern-day Astoria. However, Astorian natives rebelled in 1487, sparking similar uprisings in other parts of the empire, forcing the Argonians back towards what is now modern-day Argonia. Argonia remained an independent nation until 1911, when it was united with Czeraf, Izgravia, Cvajarak, Celestia and parts of eastern Tomstria to form the original united Arjan state.
