Lugheads are a Lurker variant. They are created by mixing their genome with that of banelings and overlords. This combination causes the strain to have swelled heads full of explosive bladders. When sent into combat, Lugheads rip off their own heads and toss them into the air. Their bodies then burrow to attack enemies with even greater range than regular lurkers. This can be attributed to their heads floating in the air like small overlord. As a bonus, the overlord DNA allows them to detect hidden targets with ease. Special abilities:

Many mistake the floating head as a very tempting target to stop the burrowed torso. They are soon proven wrong, as the heads are made to cause kamikaze attacks when provoked. Using similar chemicals found in banelings, a Lughead's detached head can strike with the same force as a swarm of Scourge. Their heads can even harden to endure more attacks before being destroyed. Should destruction happen, a relatively intact torso can regenerate a head almost instantly (MIB: Jack Jeebs). Such things only serve to infuriate Lugheads into attacking with more fierocity in later engagements. Their only flaw is the constant damage to their heads often lead to decreased intelligence and control. Special abilities: * Detector - this unit reveals cloaked or burrowed enemies * Burrowed attack - Lughead attacks while burrowed * Headhunter - head is detached while burrowed and can deal a kamikaze attack of 700 explosive splash damage * Numbskull (passive) - increases armor of flying head by +5 and is unaffected by stun, slow, or mind control
