Synopsis
| - The United States Government has given forty-eight hours for the citizens of Gotham City to abandon it if they can, as the decision to shut down Gotham was already taken. The U.S. Marshals are in charge of checking all the people who try to get out of Gotham and prevent any sort of criminal to do so; that is the case of Killer Croc who tried to escape but was forced to stay in. The press are broadcasting the events and some of them don't really care for the situation.
In Washington, D.C.; Bruce Wayne lost his temper and destroyed his hotel room. He was later called by Marion Grange to discuss their next move.
Commissioner Gordon went to Gotham's morgue to learn the identitites of the men who tried to kill him and his wife. The doctor told him that those men have been genetically modified in order to change their appearance to that of a demon. Gordon told the doctor to burn the bodies and he left the place stating that he won't leave the city without a fight.
Elsewhere, Nicholas Scratch was notified by his minions that they failed in killing Gordon, but it was unimportant to him as he has hired a professional killer to deal with his prime target: Bruce Wayne.
When Bruce and Marion Grange finished their discussion, they decided it was time to leave to catch a rest and the next day they would attend at the ceremony in the Capitol Building. When they were entering the car, the hired assassin was looking at them from a hotel window ready to strike Bruce with a bullet on his head, but the second before pulling the trigger she was distracted by the housekeeping woman and hence the shot went straight to Grange's back killing her instantly. Bruce was angry and already spotted the place where the bullet came from but the assassin was gone and Alfred prevented him from risking his life. Scratch was furious for the failure of his plan and he send his minions to find and kill Bruce Wayne.
In Gotham, Lucius Fox prepared everything for his departure and he along with the last of the corporate workers of Wayne Enterprises, used a helicopter to leave to condemned city and they watched how the bridges to the city were destroyed one by one. At the same time, the Arkahm Asylum inmates that were released also witnessed the closing of Gotham.
At the Gotham Clock Tower, Robin announced that he and his dad were thinking of moving to Keystone City and Nightwing told them that he will return to Bludhaven. [[W:C:marvel:Barbara Gordon
