To the north, the 110 crossed (in order) I-405, I-105, I-10, and U.S. Route 101, passing through Downtown Los Angeles and terminating near Pasadena. ("Day 2: 8:00am-9:00am") As part of a contingency plan to aid his escape, the anarchist Zapata devised a scheme to bring traffic throughout Los Angeles to a standstill. After his failed assassination of Martin Webb, Zapata fled from the Staples Center on a motorcycle, heading north on I-110 with Jack Bauer in close pursuit. Zapata rode to a median strip on the freeway near the intersection with U.S. 101 and retrieved a rocket-propelled grenade launcher he had hidden earlier, using it to destroy a pursuing CTU helicopter. Bauer caught up moments later, ramming into his motorcycle and sending him into a barranca off the road. After a pursuit, Jack managed to corner Zapata and shot him in the head. (Chaos Theory) During Day 1, newscaster Dave Thompson aboard Jetcopter 3 flew over the 110 while reporting on local traffic. ("Day 1: 9:00am-10:00am") During Day 6, Darren McCarthy drove under the 110 interchange and switched cars in an attempt to lose a pursuing CTU helicopter. Jack Bauer pursued him there, saw he had escaped, and continued the chase in his own vehicle. ("Day 6: 1:00pm-2:00pm")
