  • The Sea Witch and Keeah's aunt, Demither turned away from her wizard trainings, her sister (Relna), and everyone she loved and cared about for Sparr's greed long before Eric and his friends discovered Droon. In Book 2, Journey to the Volcano Palace, Demither tells the kids that Keeah's mother is alive. In the next book, the kids get stranded on her island after Demither turns into a serpent and wrecks Keeah's boat, The Jaffa Wind. She takes the Red Eye of Dawn at the end of Book 3, The Mysterious Island, and isn't seen until Book 12, Under the Serpent Sea. The Eye has drained power from her and turned her weak. She shows Keeah and her friends an image of what happened at Plud when Relna had her last battle against Sparr. It shows how Demither saved her sister from death, by changing Sparr's curse and causing Relna to continually shift shape instead of perish. In Special Edition 2. Wizard or Witch?, Demither guides Keeah to help her defeat her dark side (Neffu), and is ultimately freed by the combined power of Eric, Relna, and Keeah. In Book 22, The Isle of Mists, she is turned into Meredith when Sparr is turned into a kid. She reveals that she was turned into an Upper World kid to search for the Wand of Urik in Special Edition 8. The Final Quest.
