They are generally the most feared vortex since acid is both the most powerful element, and the most destructive — acid can potentially destroy any non-artifact item not made of eternium, crystal, or stone. They are best taken down with missiles, or bolts other than Acid Bolt (though they can shrug off bolts). Like all vortices, the message "You hear a distant wind" will be displayed on any level where an Acid vortex is present.
