- "You know I was a merchant," you say. "Long ago I had a conflict, with a guildmaster loyal to [Your Great House]. I disagreed with him, violently."
- "Haven't I told you the story of the greedy goose who garnished the gold?"
- "[Your Great House] relied on his corruption. They lost much. The secret must be upheld."
- "The King could revoke your name and title. [Your Fealty] could back a rival, or come for you themselves."
- "You know my secret could harm our House. Do you know exactly how?"
- "A bedtime story, years ago. When the toad found out, he bashed in the goose's head with a gargoyle statue." She pauses. "You're the toad?" You nod.
