AGCO Lawn & Garden Equipment offered a large range of lawn and garden tractors beginning in 2001, replacing the former AGCO-Allis Lawn & Garden Equipment, (and Deutz-Allis Lawn & Garden Equipment before that). They were built by Simplicity Manufacturing Company, Port Washington, Wisconsin through 2004. Simplicity licensed the AGCO brand, as well as the Massey Ferguson brand for lawn & garden equipment. Briggs & Stratton Corp., the well-known producer of small engines, bought Simplicity in 2004. AGCO Corp. announced plans to discontinue the AGCO brand after 2010, which probably means the lawn tractors will be discontinued as well.
