The Victorian Massacres were a series of so-called 'ideological cleansing' actions orchestrated by the underground Victorian Independent State under the command Nathaniel Wright from 2555 to 2557. The actions were in response to an attempt by an unknown party to kill off the rebels by having them come into possession of contaminated medical supplies in 2554. After the death of almost all the rebels undergoing treatment with the captured medical supplies, Wright, suspecting the New Colonial Alliance or United Nations Space Command was responsible, sent out an order to expunge colonial citizens suspected of loyalties to either organization by any means necessary.

This order led to the deaths of an estimated one thousand citizens of Victoria in various massacres before Wright called a halt to the campaign in 2557, and irreversibly turned public opinion against the Independent State and its fighters.
