| - The MBT1 is Swanopolis' current main battle tank. Swanopolis placed a bid for a tank that weighs roughly 10 tons less than USA's M1 Abrams but "smarter", resulting in the MBT1 "Fire Blade". The MBT1 is a hi-tech, modular, well-armed, but not heavily armored tank not intended to absorb heavy hits, but rather move around the battlefield with agility and sustained accuracy, and confuse the enemy using semi-stealth technology including it's low-profile turret and overall size, next-gen digital camo paint, and virtually zero flat surface area from a horizontal projectile strike. Laser- and GPS-guided mini-missile defense systems protect the MBT1 from most rocket and missile attacks. It was decided early on to use twin diesel-electric turbines for redundancy (the tank can fully operate on a single turbine), unmatched efficiency (at least 15% more efficient than comparable gas-electric turbines, in part thanks to variable-geometry turbine vanes), and great acceleration thanks to the 100%-torque-at-0-RPM electric motors that are powered by the turbines. The Fire Blade will take on most tanks 1-on-1, but it is intended to have a wolf-pack work together, in which case they manifest synergy to become an exponentially-stronger force. Fire Blades seemlessly communicate with other Fire Blades, such that expended defense systems of one Fire Blade can be made up for by another nearby Fire Blade. Furthermore, Fire Blade Support personnel can see ammo quantities, systems status, and other attributes of friendly Fire Blades so as to work with a fuller understanding of the battlefield. More to come...
