Together with Marie, they had many sons, the most notable being Primiera and Nicolette Drangueforde, but their marriage was not a happy one, so they eventually divorced, with Marie marrying Kelvin, current Count of Jade and Gustave's closest friend.

Maréchal de Sennecterre is also responsible for the introduction of Saint-Nectaire and Salers. There are two types of Cantal cheese. Cantal Fermier is a farmhouse cheese made of raw milk. Cantal Laitier is the commercial, mass-produced version. Cantal is shaped like a cylinder, and is one foot in diameter. Cantal is made from pasteurized cow's milk. This semi-hard cheese is aged for three months. The form is massive, and the cheese has a soft interior. Its flavor, which is somewhat reminiscent of cheddar, is a strong, tangy butter taste and grows with age. A well ripened Cantal has a vigorous taste, while a young cheese has the sweetness of raw milk. Its smell is of earth and pasture lands, and is reminiscent of the rich pasture land of the Auvergne region it originates from. Cantal cheese has a fat content of 45%. After Gustave's death, the lords accuse Cantal of hiving a part on Gustave's demise. Instead of shrugging off the accusations, Cantal instead takes advantage of the situation, rallying his troops to take over the neighboring kingdoms. He amasses over 5000 troops, taking over the countries by brute force. He eventually moves his troops towards Hanh Nova, forcing Kelvin to evacuate, allowing Cantal to take it over without resitance. However, as he approaches the city, it is taken over by monsters and burglars, who set it on fire, forcing Cantal to retreat. In the subsequent years, he struggles against Kelvin for supremacy over the Merchmin region, conquering most of the region through tactiful manipulation, becoming known as "The Mephistophelian Hero". 19 years after Gustave's death, he finally dies of illness, at the age of 59. His kingdom, being divided among his numerous offspring (he had around 80 children), loses all influence it once had, allowing Kelvin to advance into the Lordless Land and claim supremacy once and for all.

Furious at these outrageous comments, Cantal marches his 5000 strong army against Hahn Nova, detouring along the way to rally additional support. When the army finally approaches the city they see it has been overrun by monsters and bandits. Cantal watches the events unfold from a hilltop far away and decides to leaves Hahn Nova to it's own demise; feeling that it should perish just as Gustave did. He dies at the age of 59, having finally taken the territory of Merchmin from Kelvin after a long struggle. In the wake of Cantal's death his empire is split up amongst so many heirs that it loses all it's former power and significance.
