Early in the film, it appears that John and Sarah have failed in the previous film Judgment Day and to prevent the arrival of Skynet. Their actions in that movie have the fate only delayed. Judgment Day is inevitable and the future is still dominated by Skynet and the machines. In this third part of the Terminator series is a female terminator sent back to John Connor and some future to disable high generals of the resistance, namely the T-X. Once again, the opposition again a T-850 model 101 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) sent back to John Connor and his future wife Kate Brewster to protect, because they and their children are important in the resistance. Meanwhile, already a global computer virus launched Skynet on the worldwide computer network. After a long pursuit by the T-X tells T-101 to John and Kate that same day the first bombs already at 18: 18 hours will fall and that they should flee. Kate and John refuse this and want to go to the company to lay flat to Skynet and Kates father, the boss of Skynet, rescue. Meanwhile, Kates father pressured by the ongoing virus, not knowing that Skynet that has launched. As a result, activates the General Skynet. All seems well until Skynet takes control and starts to work independently. Skynet begins the T 1.1 robots-ungainly, less sophisticated combat robots-to check and to attack people. Kates father is fatally hit. Before he dies, he tells them that they can shut down Skynet in Crystal Peak, a military bunker. The T-101 know John and Kate to the bunker so that they can shut down Skynet. But once inside the T-X which has followed them. The T-101 blows, to save, to John himself up and with it the T-X. John and Kate reach Crystal Peak, but there appears to be no shut-off place for Skynet. Instead, it is a 30 year old nuclear shelter for VIPS and the president, who, however, never warned. John and Kate remain in the bunker, while in the meantime the inevitable Judgment Day (day of judgment) takes place. In the last few seconds received John and Kate messages of other survivors through a radio receiver. Via the radio tells John his name to the survivors, after which they ask, "John Connor, who gives there charge?" and he replies, "I'll give the lead." The film ends with the atomic bombs that explode and 3 billion people around the world kill in a few seconds. Kristanna Loken T-X Skynet will respond on the Terminator, which is controlled by the resistance, its most advanced robot back to the past to kill John Connor. David Andrews Robert Brewster The father of Kate Brewster maintains the computer network that Judgment Day will take place. Mark Famiglietti Chris Lawford Background[Edit] Production[Edit] After Terminator 2 in 1991 was soon to make the plan to a third part. It was expected that a few years after part two part three would come out. The third part, however, showed no less than twelve years. James Cameron made for producing the film announced that he did not want to direct the film. He found his Terminator-story in the first two films had told, and a third part would not be necessary. It soon became the relatively unknown Director Jonathan Mostow attracted. Fans had little hope of a good third part. There were many rumors that Arnold Schwarzenegger not would return in the Terminator series. Schwarzenegger went into consultation with Cameron after he was offered the role. Cameron advised Schwarzenegger to play with in the film, but not for an amount less than thirty million dollars. Ultimately, he agreed with almost thirty million dollars and a portion of the profits. In addition to Schwarzenegger, the producers also to attract a number of other actors, including Claire Danes (known from Romeo + Juliet) and the supermodel Kristanna Loken. Edward Furlong as the young John Connor was replaced by Nick Stahl. Earl Boen is together with Arnold Schwarzenegger the only actor who also played in all three Terminator movies. Linda Hamilton (as Sarah Connor) would join in with the first third part, but this fell through. John Connor says in Terminator 3 that this is because Connor died of leukemia in 1997. Sophia Bush would initially take on the role of Kate Brewster. At the last minute it became clear that she was too young to play to Brewster. She was then replaced by Claire Danes. Other actors who were eligible for the role as T-X were Vin Diesel, Shaquille O'Neal, Famke Janssen and Joanie Laurer. The scene in which a crane truck in a building and Schwarzenegger meanwhile to the crane hangs, is paid by Schwarzenegger himself. He agreed that he would return part of his salary so that stunt in the movie would come. Also the film at the request of Schwarzenegger partly included in Vancouver instead of Los Angeles. Also a portion of his salary withheld. The explosions that at the end of the film to see, would actually be displayed very differently. The original plan was that there are also buildings would burn and collapse. However, it was felt that this was not appropriate in connection with the terrorist attacks on the WTC in New York. Receipt[Edit] Terminator 3 eventually became a great success. Fans of the previous films were quite satisfied with this third film. With a budget of nearly $ 190 million it is still one of the most expensive movies ever made, just like part two. Terminator 3, however, brought an enormous amount of money on, more than 430 million dollars. It was the seventh most successful film of 2003. Video Games[Edit] The film was advertised with different video games. An action game called Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines was released by Atari for the Xbox, PlayStation 2 and Game Boy Advance. This game was not well received by critics. A first person shooter titled Terminator 3: War of the Machines was released for the PC. A third game titled Terminator 3: The Redemption was released for Xbox, PlayStation 2 and GameCube. Still not believing that it was completely prevented, John Connor is living "off the grid" in Los Angeles, California with no permanent residence, credit cards, or mobile phone and is working freelance so he can't be tracked. Skynet sends another Terminator, the T-X, back to July 24 2004, Judgment Day, to kill the human resistance's future lieutenants, because Connor could not be located through any information databases. The T-X, later dubbed the "Terminatrix", is armed with a full arsenal of advanced weapons from the future, avoiding the restriction of non-living tissue by carrying them internally, including the ability to remotely control most machines. The T-X, like the T-1000, has the ability to shift appearance, however, unlike the T-1000 the T-X merely has a sheath of mimetic polyalloy over its endoskeleton. The T-X has also been designed and programmed to destroy other cybernetic organisms, thus countering the threat of Terminators being reprogrammed by the Resistance. As before, a reprogrammed Terminator, identical to the Terminators from the previous films, has been sent back in time to protect Connor and his future wife, Katherine 'Kate' Brewster. In a plot twist, this specific Terminator killed John Connor in 2032, before being reprogrammed and sent back in time by Connor's wife. After rescuing them from an initial attack, the Terminator leads them to the grave of Sarah Connor (who died of leukemia 7 years previous) in Victorville. However, they find the coffin filled with weapons(Sarah having been cremated in Mexico) which her friends placed in accordance with Sarah's will as a back-up for John to use in the event that Judgment Day was not prevented. The T-X and the police arrive, and the three narrowly escape in a hearse. After the destruction of Cyberdyne Systems in T2, the US Air Force has taken over the Skynet project as part of its Cyber Research Systems division, headed by General Robert Brewster, Kate's father. In an attempt to stop the spread of a computer supervirus, they activate Skynet, allowing it to invade all of their systems: too late, they discover the virus is Skynet, which has been exerting its control over the global computer network under the guise of the virus. John, Kate, and the Terminator arrive just a few minutes too late to stop them. The T-X programs the T-1 terminators to kill office personnel and protect Skynet, which has become self-aware. Just before General Brewster dies, he tells them that the Skynet system core is in Crystal Peak, a base built into a mountain a short distance away by plane. As they board a plane to leave, they are attacked by the Terminator, earlier injected with viral nanomachines by the T-X to control it. To avoid killing Connor, he shuts himself down. When they reach Crystal Peak, they are attacked once again by the T-X. Suddenly, a helicopter comes crashing through the front wall and into the T-X. The Terminator has managed to reboot himself and regain control. The T-X detaches its legs after they are crushed beneath the helicopter, quickly crawling after John and Kate. The Terminator manages to catch hold of the T-X, buying John and Kate enough time to get to safety: the Terminator remarks to John that "We will meet again!". With the pair safe, the Terminator shoves its last remaining hydrogen fuel cell down the T-X's throat with a snide remark of "You are terminated!", destroying both of them in the resulting explosion. John and Kate discover that the base does not house the Skynet core; it is a fallout shelter for VIPs. General Brewster sent them there to protect them. There is no Skynet core; Skynet is software running on thousands of computers throughout the world making Judgment Day unavoidable. Skynet begins a series of nuclear attacks across the world, commencing Judgment Day and starting the war of man versus machine. Foreshadowing Connor's future leadership role, when the confused military forces and ham radio operators ask for orders, he picks up the radio and takes command, giving orders to the confused survivors.
