| - A poster advertising Parachutes was hung on the wall of Kim Bauer's room. ("Day 1: 12:00am-1:00am")
- Parachutes have been shown as integral parts of several characters' histories. A parachute was first seen by the survivors on the Island as having been strapped to Nigerian drug smuggler Goldie. This parachute was found by Locke and Boone. ("Deus Ex Machina") A parachute was later found attached to a periodic resupply drop, which allowed the supplies to presumably float safely down to the Island. It was later used by the survivors as a roof for their kitchen. ("Lockdown")
- Parachutes were square-shaped, and made up of cloth and ropes. However, as they were single-use, more were purchasable from tailors, along with larger bags that allowed one to carry up to fifteen at once. After Leonardo created the parachutes upon the destruction of all of his War Machines, he offered them as an addition to the arsenal of the Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Aside from using a parachute to slow down his fall, Ezio could also drop from the parachute at any time, and perform an air assassination.

The parachute helped her land on the Island, though she ended up being caught in a tree, pierced by a branch through the lung. She was found by Desmond, Charlie, Jin, and Hurley, who cut her down from the tree, using the parachute as a net. ("Catch-22") Later, Daniel Faraday, Miles, and Charlotte arrived on the Island by parachute, having leapt from a disabled helicopter in an electrical storm. ("Confirmed Dead")

The Turkish Assassins of Constantinople also made use of parachutes. The Turkish Master Assassin Yusuf Tazim as well as three other Assassins used parachutes to cross the wall of Topkapı Palace. An Assassin apprentice also used one during the assassination of Lysistrata. Desmond Miles used a parachute while infiltrating a building in New York City, in search of a power source for the Grand Temple.
