Those were, the usual inclusion of hosts Arsenal of the Premier League, Benfica of the Primeira Liga, Monaco of Ligue 1 and Valencia of La Liga. The competition took place over the weekend of 2–3 August 2014. The usual points system which awards 3 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss is supplemented by a point being awarded for each goal scored. Galatasaray were the defending champions, after winning the 2013 edition.
