The Imperial Marine is the marine class unit for the Empire, only available on space combat modes. They pack some serious ammo, but are not quite as popular as the pilot class because they cannot heal the ships they are piloting. They are good for taking out enemy units, and are pretty good at taking out the critical points inside the enemy command ship, but they are generally overshadowed by the pilot class in games. | - The Imperial Marines are a specialized branch of the Stormtrooper Corps, formed from the clone marines that preceded them within the Grand Army of the Republic. They are a division of the Imperial Shock Troopers used by the Galactic Empire to defend their capital ships. Imperial Marines are also used to sabotage or capture enemy capital ships after being ferried over to them during a space battle. They carry an E-11 Blaster Rifle, a MiniMag PTL Missile Launcher, and four thermal detonators as standard equipment. In later years, it became standard to equip the marines with jetpacks to allow them to board vessels without the need of a transport, further harkening back to their roots as clone marines. Their armor is completely sealed against hard vacuum, but unlike Spacetroopers, their air supply doesn't allow for extended operations in space.
