Benzemul has a low odour compared to other benzyl benzoate products, however, a person can recognise the smell from 1 to 2 meters away. Benzemul may not be highly effective in killing mites but it is known to repel mites for a few hours. Long enough to get some sleep. A layer of Benzemul can be bolstered by applying moisturiser on top of it after four hours.
