Shiro is one of the main protagonists from Deadman Wonderland. A mysterious but cheery albino girl, Shiro becomes Ganta's closest friend in the prison. A bit of an airhead with a child-like mind and love for eating bread and candy. Shiro is actually the childhood friend of Ganta Igarashi and Hagire Rinichirō's adopted daughter. She is actually the Wretched Egg responsible for killing Ganta's friends, the upbeat Shiro being one side of her personality. Her antics as the Wretched Egg in her and Ganta's youth traumatized Ganta into forgetting she ever existed. Along with Sorae Igarashi, Hagire experimented on her in order to heighten a person's immune system, creating the very first Deadman by accident, along with her second personality, the Wretched Egg in order to cope with her suffering.

| - Shiro 「白, ?」 es una chica albina, amiga de la infancia de Ganta Igarashi e hija adoptiva de Hagire y Sorae. Durante su infancia fue usada por estos dos en experimentos para mejorar el sistema inmunológico de las personas usando nanomaquinas. El rasgo más característico de shiro es que es albina, por lo tanto tiene el pelo blanco como la nieve (cejas y pestañas incluidas), la piel pálida y los ojos rojos. Su cabello le llega hasta las rodillas y su piel esta cubierta de profundas cicatrices que van desde sus manos hasta las piernas. Lo primero que destaca al encontrarsela en una prisión es que ella no viste como el resto de prisioneros, lleva un traje ajustado de color blanco adornado con espirales y rayas rojas, el traje deja fuera los dedos de los piés y los talones, asi como las manos desde las muñecas, también usa un collarin cervical, aparentemente sin ninguna razón especifica. No lleva zapatos, prefiere estar todo el tiempo descalza y lleva una especie de guantes rústicos que le cubren los dedos, son tan gruesos que incluso parecen unos guantes de boxeo antiguos.

The Wretched Egg (レチッド エグ, Rechiddo Egu) was Shiro's second personality. She is the original Deadman and is also known as the Red Man (赤い男, Akai Otoko), a name coined by Ganta Igarashi during the Nagano School Massacre. She is a major antagonist of the series and is the one that set major plots in the story into motion.
