RealWorldRefs
  • *The marching band hails from "Gerberville," a nod to RAH writer Steve Gerber. *Buck McCann is named after Leatherneck's voice actor, Chuck McCann. *The trucker wears a CAT hat.
MemorableQuotes
  • "You blind panty-waist! You missed!" :--Shiela McDermott expects Cobra cadets to be better shots than real Cobras? "What?! You some kinda weirdo, boy?" :-- The truck driver' is not used to half-naked men jumping into his truck.
Errors
  • * Leatherneck knocks Zandar off his chopper and steals it, yet in the next scene Zandar is once again riding on a chopper with no explanation as to where it came from. *When the Dreadnoks arrive at Parris Island they fight the Cobra troops instead of G.I. Joe. **Then again, the Cobra cadets are dressed in marching band uniforms, not Cobra uniforms; besides, the Dreadnoks are not particularly bright and in their zeal for a fight they just started shooting at anything that moved. **When they arrived they saw that the plan had failed and perhaps believed that the Joes would allow them to escape in exchange for assaulting the other Cobra troops. **The Dreadnoks are not seen arrested, the Joes were focused on the regular Cobra troops and the Dreadnoks used the distraction to escape. *While named the "Cobra Elite Corps" and implied to be the Cobra version of G.I. Joe and/or the United States Marine Corps, none of the Cobra recruits showed any skill. In particular, the training and acceptance standards were inferior to real world military standards. Buck McCann showed foresight by spreading the escaped mental asylum patient story and commenting on Leatherneck's ease of escape. Shiela McDermott was easily defeated and was shown to be "all style, no substance". Mike P. Randall showed no energy about Cobra's methods and idealogy. The other cadets were easily defeated. Serpentor makes a valid point when he states that the cadets look impressive, but asks "can they fight"? *At the end of the episode, the ground beneath McCann changes from grass to concrete as he stands up. *In most of the flashbacks, Leatherneck is still wearing all of his field gear, even when the Drill Pad at Parris Island as a Drill Sergeant would be the last place he would need it.
ItemsOfNote
  • *The "Now You Know..." attached to this episode involved Spirit teaching kids not to underestimate someone who had lost one of their five senses.
