She was born in Sharpetown, Maryland on 20 February 1879 as the daughter of Henry and Leah Jones. She married John Land some time before 1905 and had three children, Anna, Edith and John. Edith Land died in Atlantic City, New Jersey on 19 February 1990, aged 110 years, 364 days.
