Transcendency is a beneficial status effect in Final Fantasy XI gained by using the Abyssea-specific temporary item Primeval Brew. The Transcendent one "converge[s] with the primordial forces of nature", and gains godlike power. Most stats increase nearly tenfold—Strength, Dexterity, Agility, Vitality, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma all increase to 999; HP and MP increase to 9999; Magic Attack Bonus is boosted by +900; and Damage Taken is reduced by -90%. Furthermore, the Transcendent one's HP and MP regenerate at 300/tick, and TP are gained at a rate of 500/tick (allowing the use of a Weapon Skill roughly every 6 seconds).

With such staggering might, nearly any monster in Abyssea can be killed solo with ease (the remaining monsters can be killed solo with reasonable caution and care). Transcendent players are still subject to status effects, and can be completely incapacitated or killed in this way. Transcendency does not wear off upon death, but only lasts for three minutes. Transcendency does not give any bonuses whatsoever to pets, or overcome the absolute inability of double-Weakened players do deal damage in any way.
