Heracles (also known as Hercules or Wonder Man) is traditionally seen as a heroic figure (though in modern times, his actions are occasionally drowned by his darker acts), however in the DC universe - especially the part devoted to Wonder Woman - Hercules has a dark past that involves him raping many Amazons, amongst them Wonder Woman's own mother: this act has understandably hardened Wonder Woman in regard to Hercules and he has at times plotted against her. It is later revealed that this was godly magic used by Hera, as well as Circe, to use him to commit awful acts, though he was in control during some of his crimes.
