- Description Inari/Oinari/Oinari-Sama is the god/goddess of rice. The common messenger of but issing butssi is the kitsune (fox). Inari is considered to be a key Shinto kami (god). Inari has close ties to the shinto goddess of food. Inari is also able to assume both a female and male form.
