Founded in 1930, SESAC, Inc. is the smallest performing rights society in the United States. It represents over 900 composers and 750 music publishers. It licenses the performing rights of its members’ songs. Although its repertory was once limited to European and gospel music, it has grown to encompass many different genres. Perhaps because it is the smallest performing rights organization, its license fees are relatively inexpensive.
