Karen Henthorn (born 1963 in Oldham) appeared on Coronation Street between March 2007 and May 2010 as Teresa Bryant. Her interest in drama first began as a twelve-year-old when she joined the Oldham Theatre Workshop and was cast in her first professional role aged thirteen, playing Betty Parris in Manchester Contact's Theatre production of The Crucible. After leaving school she then completed a further five years in full-time drama education: a two-year foundation course in Theatre Studies at her local college followed by three years at London's Method Acting School, The Drama Centre.

Alongside acting, she maintains a teaching career, chiefly as a module leader for the BA (Hons) screen acting courses at the Italia Conti Academy and Manchester Metropolitan University.
