- He was created by Black Doom to replace Shadow after the Black Arms defeat in the Shadow the Hedgehog video game. Unlike the other Black Arms troops, Eclipse can do his own bidding and still work for Black Doom. They first met and fought during an attack in the Black Arms Black Comet. The Black Arms invaded again and Shadow was about to face off with him again but Lucario fought him and the batte was catastrophic and both lost. The Arms invaded again and Eclipse and Lucario are fighting again.
- He maid his debut in Sonic Universe #59 along side Black Death and fights Shadow the hedgehog after introducing himself. According to Iyan Eclipse is what would happen if Shadow was a pure Black Arms instead of a hybrid between a Hedgehog and a Black Arms.
