Orbs of Seeing allow you to locate any person who is online at the time you use it. At level 3 Enchanting, a Wizard is able to make an Orb of Seeing. The ingredients required are 1 Gaper Eye, 1 Diamond Dust, 1 Elemental Dust, and 30 Etherite. At a Magic Shop, one can buy an Orb of Seeing for 1500 gp and sell them for 750 gp. Orbs cannot be used while underground. Use of an Orb of Seeing is one of the few actions a player may take without breaking Hidden status.

Successful Orb readings take the form of a message indicating the number of tiles North and number of tiles West of the user's current position. Orbs are able to locate hidden players and ghosts normally. Attempts to locate a Stealthed Rogue will return the message "Name: Location unclear." This message is also returned when attempting to locate players who are currently underground. Players who are offline will return a message saying "The orb sees nothing." This message is also returned if attempts are made to Orb NPCs and GMs as the Orb is unable to locate such targets. Orbs cannot be used while underground. Use of an Orb of Seeing is one of the few actions a player may take without breaking Hidden status.
