| - For time immemorial, the furthest northern reaches of Rhonnos have been shrouded in darkness and death. The Lycari tell takes of those who spurned the Raven Queen's gift of peaceful death and headed north to the shores of the Sea of Frost and beyond. The Undead have always held a place in the shadows and fears of all those still living. But the Undead were few and far between, usually brought about by some power hungry necromancer or the touch of Vecna or Orcus. In 1074, those fears became a nightmare for some. Arriving on a black ship, with black sails and a strange fog that seemed to emanate from it, a single person disembarked at Lioq. This person hid his face and spoke with a strange lisp, but had requested an audience with the lords and nobles of the city. When they met with this person, many fainted away in fear and terror. The person was Kul, an emissary from the Isle of Wight. He was once a citizen of citizen of Nerath City, but fled when Ioton opened his portal. He dwelt in the north for a time before dying. However, Kul was a devotee of Vecna, and death was not the end. He went to the Isle of Wight to adjust to his state of Undeath, and found many others like him. Each was greedy and ambitious, and there was near constant infighting. Eventually though, Kul and some others of similar mindset, gathered their minds and power together to take control. A few rivals needed to be destroyed, but the Lords of Night did so with ease. Using the mindless Undead as slave labor, they build a city, the Necropolis of Zavando, and ruled the Isle of Wight from their ebony towers. But they thought, what is the point of having a kingdom like this if they are isolated? Thus Kul was sent forth to not ask, but tell the other kingdoms and cities and lands that Drakkatul, the Kingdom of Endless Night, now existed. He made offers to each of the places he visited, that Drakkatul would maintain a small palace on the outskirts of any city, and the recently deceased could be brought there for internment. Lioq was the only city who allowed it. Every other city was outraged, especially by members of the Church of the Raven Queen. Some people were so furious, that the Order of the White Staff was reformed. They struck out to attack the Isle of Wight and destroy Drakkatul before it became a danger. They failed miserably, and merely reinforced the Undead nation with more bodies. So far though, Drakkatul has done nothing other than attempt some trade agreements and try to convince the lands of the world that they are not evil.
